Weapon Anatomy
Weapons range from personal sidearms to the main armament of a spaceship, and despite their differences in size, they all share a common structure and set of rules. These details are presented in a profile that includes the following attributes: Range, Damage, Damage Type, Size, Damage Die (DD), Traits, and Cost.
Venti Estoc: G+3 kinetic dmg, DD: 3. 1 range. AP: -1. Traits: Impale, Line (2), Primitive. COST: 2000cs
Marco Revolver: SIZE 1. 9 kinetic dmg, DD:2. 15 range. AP:-2. traits: reload (4), gape (4), hard, pistol. COST: 2000cs
- Name: The weapon’s designation or title.
- Size: This defines what size of weapon slot on a vehicle the weapon can fit. Weapons without a size value cannot damage vehicles unless they have the appropriate traits. Weapons without a size value are personal weapons and are able to be used without a vehicle. Whilst weapons with a size value need a vehicle to be mounted on
- Damage & Type of Damage: This specifies the weapon's damage output. For ranged weapons, it’s a numerical value, while for melee weapons, it's a combination of Grit (G) and a damage number, which together determine the total damage.
- Range: The number of hexes the weapon can fire without incurring a penalty. Attacks beyond this range impose a 2DS penalty for every 10 hexes over the maximum range. If a weapon has AO or theater listed, it can fire into those zones without penalty.
- Damage Die (DD): The number of dice the weapon rolls to inflict additional damage.
- Armor Penetration (AP): This shows how much of the target’s resistance is bypassed by the weapon's attack.
- Traits: These are special rules the weapon possesses, affecting its performance under certain conditions.
- Cost: The Criptoscrip (CS) cost of the weapon, used for purchasing, selling, or maintaining the weapon.
Not a part of a weapons profile but you may notice that vehicle weapons have a space for weapon group. Weapon Group: Specifies which weapon group the weapon belongs to. Weapons in the same group roll a single attack test and can target the same target.
Armour is as simple as a bulletproof vest or as complex as a space suit, they are listed with profiles consisting of AV, armour traits and cost.
