“One Voice, One People, One Power ” has echoed across countless worlds, stirring both excitement and fear. Vox Moralis, a political supermovement with cluster-wide support, was founded by former Venti Prolocutor Hiram Iskaniel. The group calls for radical action to address what it deems existential threats to humanity. Hiram identifies the erosion of human character and morality as the greatest dangers, and while Vox Moralis highlights numerous threats, it is particularly focused on GELF, non-Venti superpowers, artificial intelligence, secularism, and political subversives.
During his tenure as prolocutor, Hiram Iskaniel witnessed escalating tensions with superpowers and frequently warned of an impending cluster-wide war. He argued that these powers were conspiring to eliminate the last bastion of freedom in the cluster. After assuming office following the activation of the 4th Pillar and witnessing the Venti's failure to secure another pillar, Hiram pushed for a more aggressive foreign policy and greater expansion of Venti territory and influence. He also called for sweeping reforms to the republic’s trade policies, which previously allowed colonies to maintain significant economic and political autonomy. Hiram felt that the republic benefited too little from this arrangement and sought to increase these colonies' integration into the republic. Additionally, he advocated for expanding the Senate Guard to match the capabilities of other contemporary militaries, reducing reliance on hired Armournauts.
Hiram's nationalist rhetoric gained widespread popularity among the Venti people. His intense speeches and witty retorts won him public favor, but his proposed reforms failed to materialize due to his limited powers as prolocutor and ineffective attempts to sway the intransigent Pentarchy and Sufetes. His increasingly vocal criticisms of the Senate and Pentarchy spurred various degrees of civil unrest, which were quickly quelled by the Senate. Accused of violating his prolocutor duties, Hiram was summoned to answer for his actions but disappeared, fleeing with a small group of Senate Guard and his household. Stripped of his titles and lands, Hiram took refuge in New Monaco, where he began to fervently campaign against the republic and its governance.
In New Monaco, Hiram founded Vox Moralis and made several media appearances, campaigning to join the local clan parliament. Although unsuccessful, his debates, especially a notable one against Michelle Therano, a former senator and advocate for genetic liberty, brought him considerable attention across the cluster. Hiram criticized Therano's stance on genetic manipulation, denouncing it as dangerous and immoral. This issue became a focal point of his speeches, boosting his popularity and leading to significant financial support from across the cluster. He began advocating for restrictions on reproductive rights, proactive detention of dangerous speciated persons, and stricter migration criteria. Vox Moralis grew to millions of members, solidifying Hiram's influence within a large segment of the cluster's population.
Hiram increasingly emphasized Yilanic values, citing a religious awakening as justification for his movement. He condemned godless machines and their creators, the Temple, and criticized the tyrannical Lunar Union. He promised to restore the republic by ousting corrupt senators and returning to the principles of the League Era, aligning himself with the League Restorationists and nationalist movements on Adria. Hiram preached that the Pillars were divinely ordained and that his mission was to purge the unworthy from the new garden created by the twinsnakes.
Though Hiram Iskaniel could not return to Adria, Vox Moralis has emerged as a formidable political force. The movement has successfully courted senators and garnered substantial support across the cluster. Its influence has spread widely, with millions of members in the Jambles, the Core, and the Frontier, as its ruling parties increasingly align with its agenda.
Despite being banned in the Lunar Union and by The Temple due to its association with extremist elements, Vox Moralis continues to attract significant backing. The political apparatus of other superpowers has taken note of the movement's growing reach and influence, signaling a shift in the cluster's political landscape.
While Vox Moralis does not officially employ Armournauts, its millions of members include a substantial faction known as the Moralis Militia. This group provides training in self-defense and political organization to its members. However, it has been frequently linked to political violence and organized insurrection throughout the cluster.
The Moralis Militia has been known to favor sharpshooters and power-armored enforcers in its operations. This consistent preference suggests a tactical doctrine centered on small-scale, high-impact strikes in populated areas, often targeting local police or security forces. The primary objective of these tactics appears to be intimidation and the creation of a climate of fear.
