The Enazcan Dreamers practice peculiar kind of prógonoslepsy; they deify the Lhamageans an extinct culture of humans. They believe that some Enazcans are their divine descendants that they can be possessed by the Lhamageans' invigorating spirits. They often depict the Lhamageans as angelic beings and regard them as saving the Enazcan shortly after the scattering. The Enazcan appear to have reverted to neo-lithic technology for a time. The near complete destruction of their seed ship and the confounding environment of the planet they were marooned on are understood to be the trigger for the near complete technological regression. Flora analogues on Zek are ubiquitously hard to burn and ill-suited towards construction. Their high water content, gummy resin mucilage and rapid bacterial decomposition meant that even making fire was lost. Shelters displayed remarkable ingenuity but were diminutive and terribly labour intensive to build and maintain. With no hard woods, reed analogues and poor mortar materials the clay the plant matter dwellings were ineffectual at combating their Torrential Zek rains if they could be built at all. It is remarkable that the Enazcan adapted to Zek and perhaps they would have remained that way or died out if not for the intervention of the Lhamageans.
Some generations after the scattering the Lhamageans discovered the Enazcan, offering them contemporary technologies. From what little is known about the Lhamageans it is suspected that they cultivated their perceived divinity amongst the Enazcan. It is still unclear what the Lhamageans gained from their interactions with the Enazcan but their is significant evidence for interbreeding, enslavement and cannibalism. The emergence of a fervent priest and warrior caste devoted to the Lha’Maggeans might partially explain the motive. Though it is hard to see how this benefited Lha’Maggean military doctrine which favoured atomic bombardment warfare on the strategic scale and GELF weapons on the tactical scale. The Enazcan tell stories of mythological beasts that the Lhamageans taught them to ‘meld’ with. Their stories of the Recrudescence often include brave Enazcan blood priests and Oathsworn commanding armies of beasts to fight the union. These stories often overstate Enazcan and Lhamagean contributions to the Recrudescence and omit Averi and Obriossian participation. In any Enazcan texts are only tangentially useful sources of historical information laden as they are with spiritual and supernatural phenomena.
The Dreamers are predominantly female owning to skewed sex distributions of Enazcan populations. The Enazcan as a whole appear to have signs of historical genetic manipulation resulting in the tall stature, higher muscle content ability to withstand extreme variations of core body temperature. The Enazcan tell stories of the Lhamageans coupling with them and ‘altering their blood and souls’ which is understood to perhaps be a recollection of the genetic alterations. Convulsive seizures likely resulting from the genetic manipulation appear to have taken on a religious significance to the Dreamers. They are often deliberately induced through sleep deprivation, dehydration and profound psychological distress in esoteric Enazcan rituals. This along with rumoured practices of sacrifice, suicide and self injurious behaviour are cited reason the faith of the dreamers being criminalised within the Lunar Union.
The Enazcan Dreamers believe that the pillars and corridor space were sacred creations of the Lhamageans. In their mind the Recrudescence occurred because the Union defiled its sanctity and incurred the wrath of their gods. The Lhamageans are seen as the guardians of all divine knowledge and protectors of the faithful. It is easy to see how this belief came about, Lhamagean technology is still poorly understood to this day almost 400 years later. Metallurgy, medicine and electronics have been greatly influenced by the recrudescence. The “nil-knife” is a rare example of technology made by the Enazcan that have proliferated throughout the cluster. Though officially disbanded the Enazcan warrior caste exists at least in part in the faith of the Dreamers. Adherents of the faith are compelled to always be armed, to comply with law and regulations of the cluster worlds glaives have been exchanged for more diminutive blades. Firearms too have become smaller in endeavours to be more concealable or forgone lethality altogether becoming more symbolic totems. It is common for Dreamers to have mock or deactivated weapons proudly and somewhat gaudily displayed.
The Faith of the Dreamers prohibits “the dilution of bloodlines” through coupling without observing religious rites. Dreamers do not marry but elders and priests within the faith must permit and sanctify each individual union. Unions with non-dreamers are permitted but participants must undergo 'spiritual purification' before and after. Children of these couplings are shunned unless both the child and parent are incorporated into the faith. Dreamers believe children belong to the congregation collectively not their parents, this has caused tensions between other faiths and contemporary societies. Dreamer smoking ceremonies are common sights in non-union space, these rituals are said to embolden the spirit and ward off the influence of other gods. Historically these ceremonies involved the burning of bones of heathens in great bonfires but have since been adapted to incorporate the burning of Zek native flora.
Enazcan can be recognised by their colourful tattoos that depict Lhamagean angels or their elaborate stone, shell or coral piecing's. Enazcan Armounauts tend to lavishly decorate the interiors and exteriors of the vehicles with etchings, fetishes or complex murals. The Enazcan are highly coordinated stemming from Neolithic tactics originally designed to hunt megafauna on Zek and maintained by the faith and practices of the dreamers. Hunting is worthless if a skilled hunter is lost in the process, the Enazcan incrementally increase their advantage until their opponents misstep or an opportunity arises. They then seize it with unparalleled swiftness and ferocity retreating to safety once favourable engagement is expended or erodes. Enazcan vehicle combat tends to frustrate enemies forces with skirmishing until either the enemy overextends while giving chase or is overwhelmed by fire. Many Enazcan clans inhabit the frontier and their insular nature along with historical reputation has lead to many rumours about sacrificial cannibal cults raiding colonies. This rumours should be treated as such, far from being stone age savages they thoroughly embrace contemporary technology . Admittedly though this does if anything, make them a far more credible threat. Enazcan’s hire Armounauts as aerospace transports or fire support to strand vessels for awaiting Enazcan warbands.
